Endurance Experts - Excerpt from Introduction

Finally, ours is a culture of illusion. When you are ignorant about the truth and seek to escape reality, you end up living in an illusory bubble. As we work to change the outward condition of peoples’ lives, we put our hope in that which deceives while we turn away from the truth that has the power to transform the human heart. For example, consider the UNO, or any Islamofascist group, or a dictatorial, communist government led by some tyrant. Consider the academia in our historic universities here in the U.S., which has been brainwashed by atheistic and naturalistic philosophy. To some extent, the common denominator in all these groups is a tireless striving toward a heaven on earth. But not just these groups. You and I are prone to the same while trying to chase the “American dream!” Striving to enter God’s Heaven is ignored, while illusive utopias are sought.

In a culture of ignorance, escapism, and illusion, learning how to respond rightly to suffering is necessary. Also, in such a milieu, no endeavor can be more realistic—because suffering is an inescapable reality.

Join me, then, for this journey on becoming an endurance expert. It will be worth your time, because if you are not suffering now, or even if you have never suffered, you will suffer one day in some way. That is not my wish for you, but simply a fact in this broken and fallen world. My earnest prayer for you, therefore, is that this book will help you to respond rightly to suffering and to cross the finish line into eternity, “when God gives out the medals.”
